Steven T. MerrickChief Executive Officer
Mr. Merrick joined the St. Renatus team in September 2009. As the Chief Executive Officer, he oversees all operations to help fund, complete the FDA process, commercialize, and distribute the new drug. Prior to joining St. Renatus, Mr. Merrick served for 15 years in various management positions for Septodont, the world’s leading provider of injectable dental anesthetics. He held the position of Vice President of Global Marketing for The Pain Control Division during his last three years at Septodont. During his tenure, he was involved in the FDA approval process for a variety of local anesthetics including the best-selling branded anesthetic in dentistry, Septocaine.
Mr. Merrick received a B.A. in Marketing from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey in 1986. Throughout his professional years, Mr. Merrick has involved himself in many business associations, including serving as the Chairman of Exhibits Committee of The Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) from 2007 to 2009. He currently is a member of St. Renatus’ Board of Directors.
Stephen K. SnyderPresident & Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Snyder joined the St. Renatus team as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) on September 1, 2014. He is currently a member of St. Renatus’ Board of Directors and has served on the Board since 2012. Mr. Snyder has more than 25 years of experience in various leadership positions. His experience spans growth in large corporations, mid-sized companies and start-up environments. As President and COO, he works closely with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement the company’s strategy and ensure that solid commercialization and operational growth plans are in place.
Before joining St. Renatus, Mr. Snyder was the President and COO at Neogen Corporation, a publicly-held corporation based in Lansing, Michigan, which develops, manufactures and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. Before his role with Neogen, he spent over 12 years with Cargill, where he was the Vice-President of Marketing for what is now Cargill’s Industrial Specialties business. While at Cargill, he also held leadership positions in the launch and growth of consumer branded products (Truvia™ sweetener), branded nutritional ingredients and other food ingredient products. Prior to Cargill, Mr. Snyder was Vice-President of Corporate Development at Senomyx (SNMX), a San Diego based start-up biotech company. As a founding member of the management team, Mr. Snyder played an instrumental role in commercial development, strategic planning, fund raising and Fortune 500 corporate partnering while with Senomyx. He also spent 12 years with Monsanto Company in various leadership positions across multiple functions in specialty chemical and nutrition businesses.
Mr. Snyder received an M.B.A. in General Management from the Harvard Business School with a focus in Finance and Marketing and a B.S. in Chemistry from Phillips University. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Life Science Alley, a life science and health technology oriented non-profit industry association based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Jill M. Shoemaker, M.B.A.Vice President of Investor Relations
Ms. Shoemaker helped launch the company in 2008. She has been the primary contact for seven funding rounds, talking closely with angel investors on a daily basis. Prior to becoming Vice President of Investor Relations, she served as the Director of Finance. Formerly, she was a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch. Ms. Shoemaker began her business career with Oak Associates, ltd., a privately held large capital growth investment manager. She has 15 years of security and client relationship management experience. She serves on the Project Smile community board which focuses on helping children in serious need of dental care.
Ms. Shoemaker received a B.A. in fine arts from The College of Wooster and an M.B.A. from Malone University.
